My New Favourite Stack
It’s been a while since my last blog post but that’s mainly cause I’ve found myself preoccupied with a side project I’ve been working on. I won’t be sharing with this project is yet or share many code snippets, but mainly talk about my experiences of this stack.
The stack I will be talking about is Django + Postgres + HTMX + Surrealjs + Tailwindcss. It’s nothing technical, just sharing something I’ve been trying out.
Giving my first Cyber Security Talk
Now the title is quite misleading… but it isn’t fully inaccurate.
On April 1st I gave a presentation on how Capture The Flag (CTF) events work, which was a bit of a curve-ball for me since I was expecting to actually present it. I had helped behind the scenes to create them but was thinking our MC would be presenting it.
How It Went
Considering I had never given a cyber security presentation before (aside from a university assignment), I would say it could’ve gone a lot worse. Did I ramble for some parts? Yes. Did I maintain consistent eye contact with the audience? No. Did people actually find it helpful? No clue.
The Hunt for a Simple DNS Resolver
Lately I’ve been finding the need to add host names to the services I host on my home server. The usual straightforward way of doing this would be just adding static routes directly through your router (if you use it for DNS and DHCP handling). However I unfortunately have a router that doesn’t support this currently, so my next option was setting up a separate service that will resolve IP address to whatever I want.
First Post
Developing in public.
Welcome to the start of my blog. The point of this isn't really to show off my knowledge surrounding technologies or the weird projects I have been up to. Quite the contrary. The point of this blog is to work on my own writing abilities as well as showcase some of the things I have been working on.
I have no doubts that the reader of this blog, you, will have far more knowledge and experience than myself and probably played around with the idea before. On the off chance this isn't the case I hope you have learned something and that my posts provide some entertainment value.
